The Idea
A child’s request is not a problem to eliminate. It can be a useful opening for learning what a choice costs in time, effort, and trade-offs.
“What will it take?” shifts the adult from gatekeeper to guide. The answer can still be no, not now, or not this way—but the reasoning becomes visible.
